Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Slime in the Coconut collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because we collect as little as we can; the site runs no ads and no third-party analytics.

Who we are

Slime in the Coconut ("we", "us") is a small, independent slime & squishy content site (recipes, videos, goo-science and games) based in the USA. We do not sell anything. For any privacy question, email contact@slimeinthecoconut.com.

What we collect

You can use almost all of the site without giving us anything. The only personal information we collect is:

• Your email address, only if you choose to give it, by submitting the "new recipes & videos" signup or creating an optional account. We use it solely to send you the updates you asked for and (if you make an account) sign-in links.

We do not collect payment or card information. Your Collection, game preferences and theme are stored in your browser's own local storage on your device and are never sent to us. We also record anonymous, first-party usage signals (which videos and recipes get opened) to decide what to feature; these contain no name, email or address.

How we use it

• To send you the recipe/video updates you signed up for, and sign-in links if you created an account.
• To respond to your emails and questions.
• To understand, in aggregate, which content is popular so we can make more of it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share as little as possible:

• Our email provider: to actually deliver the emails you asked for.
• Embedded videos: video players (e.g. YouTube) are embedded from their own servers and set their own cookies when you play them; they are governed by their own privacy policies.
• Authorities: if required by law, or to protect our rights.

Cookies & tracking

• Embedded video players; YouTube and similar set their own cookies when you press play on a clip.
• Sign-in cookie: if you use the optional account, a cookie keeps you signed in on your device, only for that purpose.

We run no ads, and no third-party analytics or social trackers. Aside from the embedded video players above, our own usage signals are anonymous and first-party only.

Retention

We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed or have an account. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete it and it's gone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the UK/EU under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these, email contact@slimeinthecoconut.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
